A Decade of Excellence
From independent roots to a unified leader in specialist height access and environmental services.
Leading the Way in Access Solutions
SEP Culant is an IRATA accredited rope access and vegetation management company that specialises in access solutions where traditional scaffolding methods are not suitable.
We are known as the U.K’s leading providers for Tree Management, Vegetation Control and Height Access within the construction and renewable energy sectors.
Operating out of the North East of England, our highly skilled team of specialists have worked on high safety projects across the U.K, always delivering no lost time injuries and thousands of hours worked safely.
The Roots of CULANT
The man in the image is Roy Oliver (28/06/1944 - 05/08/2009), Andrew Olivers Dad and the original founder of Culant Ltd. A Plater by trade, but a master of all things mechanical. He earned a reputation as “the problem solver of the North Riding.” Speak to anyone who worked in the maintenance departments of the old Middlesbrough General, Poole Hospital or St Luke’s, and they’ll vouch for that without hesitation.
He grew up watching him run this business. He was always proud to show me the things he’d built or fixed. He wasn’t always around, the work took a lot of his time, but that didn’t matter. He was Andrews hero. He always dreamed of taking over the business one day.
This is why the name “CULANT” means so much to Andrew. It’s more than a brand – it’s his last connection to his dad. Before he passed, he taught him some lessons he still lives and works by:
- ✔ Have a firm but respectful handshake.
- ✔ You only get one chance at a first impression – never underdress.
- ✔ Your reputation is everything – never cut corners, and never put money before integrity.
- ✔ 95% of the job is easy – it’s the final 5% that makes the difference. Finish it.
- ✔ Be versatile – when others say it can’t be done, FIND A WAY.
Those final three principles are now core values that need to be instilled in all of us, as they are the reason behind our continued success.

Building on Momentum
Over the past few years, our business has experienced a surge in growth. With that success has come new challenges, more projects, larger teams, and increasingly complex responsibilities. To continue building on this momentum, it’s vital that we have a clear and consistent framework that supports both our people and our projects.
The new structure and accountability model has been developed to provide exactly that. It gives every manager, supervisor, and staff member a defined role, a clear line of reporting, and the tools to take ownership of their responsibilities. This isn’t about adding bureaucracy, it’s about creating clarity. By ensuring that everyone knows who is responsible, who is accountable, and how decisions flow through the organisation, we reduce duplication, improve communication, and strengthen delivery across every area of the business.
Most importantly, this model is designed to support our continued growth while protecting the values that set us apart. It reinforces consistency across safety, quality, and operational performance, while also giving staff the confidence that their responsibilities are recognised and supported.
Today’s presentation will walk through the structure, explain how accountability is applied at each level, and set out what it means for each of us moving forward. This is a framework for growth, but also for empowerment, making sure we continue to succeed together as one team.
